Flok drama Ghero is the story of Gandaki state of Nepal. The story revolves around culture and the traditional Gandaki state. Drama is written by Kedar Nath Paudel, directed by Kapil Sharma, and vision of Saroj Aryal. Writer Kedar Poudel himself played the role of buffalo and shaman. The drama was shown in Pokhara theater successfully.on the basis of public review and participation Ghero was a huge success.

The characters in the play and the play ‘GHERO‘ has a good story about superstition prevailing in Nepal and still practice these kinds of superstitions in some place of Nepal. It is emphasized that the anomalies in the society should be eliminated and an educated and good society should be developed. Superstition hypnotizes everyone, people blindly follow it and later regret it. Attempts to eradicate such evil practices are a must.

Nepali Folk Drama ‘Ghero‘ is the story of a superstitious Nepali village. The drama ‘Ghero’ does the postmortem of Superstition that is prevalent in the Nepalese people as they suppose it as their culture. The presentation of drama Ghero is in “Folk Form” which presents Nepalese culture in a typical way. The play was prepared by Youth Creation Theatre. The play was staged Pokhara Theatre from (29 Nov. to 14 Dec.) 2018.
After that, drama Ghero was presented in kf]v/f cGt/f{li6«o gf6s dxf]T;a @)&% (Pokhara International Theatre Festival – 2019) organized by Youth Creation Theatre and Pokhara Theatre at (27 Feb. to 6 March) 2019. Ghero also presented in /f/f /li6«o gf6s dxf]T;a @)&% (Rara National Drama Festival 2019), organized by ;f+:s[lts ;+:yfg (Cultural Corporation of Nepal Government) (sanskritiksansthan.org.np) and Aranga Nepal Surkhet at (7 to 13) March 2019 in Birendranagar, Surkhet, Nepal. And also presented in nf]s gf6\o pT;j @)&^ (Folk Drama Festival 2019). Organized by g]kfn ;ËLt tyf gf6\o k|1f k|lti7fg (Nepal Academy of Music And Drama) (namuda.org.np/) at 7 Jun 2019 in Sarwanam Theatre, Kathmandu (sarwanam.org.np/).
Then the play Ghero also staged in XIII International Folklore Festival-2019 (folklorefestival-lausitz.de/). Which was held in Lausitz, Germany at (4 to 7) July 2019. And Ghero has been participated in the Online Theater Festival organized by SANTIPUR ANNESHAN at (7 to 21) SEP 2021. Along with this play Ghero has been staged in Asia playwrights Festival APF 2021(아시아희곡축제 2021) 14 to 17 October 2021 South Korea by Korean play actors. Now the Ghero is making the theatrical journey to Egypt in the event The International Theater Festival for Southern Youth going to be conducted in the period of (15 to 20) March 2022.
synopsis of "Ghero"
Nepali Folk Drama 'Ghero' is the story of a superstitious Nepali village. The drama ‘Ghero’ does the postmortem of Superstition that prevalent in the Nepalese people as they suppose it as their culture. Kanchha (a play actor) after participating in a ritual in his in- laws’ house, returns to his house; he sees a circle of rice at the door. This incident led him to wake and follow his hidden instinct of Superstition imposed in his subconscious psyche by the society. This drama depicts the sufferings of Kanchha after the incident. After seeing the rice circle at the door, Kanchha and Kanchhi (Play Actors/actress) think someone might lure ghost into their house. This superstition leads Kanchha and Kanchhi to visit a Shaman. Shaman pushes their superstition further and makes Kanchha and Kanchhi handover him their valuable cash they got as offerings from their in-laws. After the Witch Hunter (Shaman) has got all the heritage they (Kanchha Kanchhi) possessed, the Witch Hunter runs away. This makes them realize their stupidity and all their belief system is Nothing more than just a superstition. characters of "Ghero"
